Around the house

We must have a bunny nest under our deck because this little guy is always out in the yard, but usually dashes under the deck when we come outside. I was lucky to get this picture of him! He's so cute and little!

She's pretty cute and little too and can dash around pretty fast these days also!

We have some voluntary strawberries, but I think the bunnies are eating most of them...

We borrowed my Grandad's truck this week and have been busy outside working around the house. There were lots of limbs and leaves and debris on the border of our property, so we hauled those off. Chris also trimmed up some of the Cedar trees and we took those limbs away. I wish I'd taken a before picture, but I really didn't, so you'll just have to imagine what it looked like before. It really does look tons better and allows for a little more breeze through there. Plus Chris says it's a lot easier to mow now.

Here is the front of the house. We did some work here also. It was helpful to have my Grandad's truck because we used it to buy and bring home several bags of rock and 11 plants. This is the before picture...

Here are the after...
We have "Lamb's Ear", three different types of Hostas, two different types of one plant that I don't remember the name of, and a Golden Vicary Privet. The pictures really don't do it justice. I think it looks amazingly better than it did before! Chris put down a weed barrier, then we planted the plants, then put the rocks in. I think he also watered them with a Miracle Grow concoction. The three other plants we got will go on the other side of the porch in front of the house. We have a peony on the side of the house that we are thinking about moving somewhere also. It is mixed in with a few Burning Bush(es) and they will all get bigger, so we want to move the Peony somewhere we can enjoy it more once it starts getting blooms. I'd kind of like to put it next to the mailbox, but we shall see.

My "Lambs Ear" on the front corner did perk up later. I was a little worried about it, but it looks great now!

  2. I've slowly over the last three years been filling in the rock area in front of my house. My dad says lambs ear never dies (although I have killed it before lol). I've had to trim down mine and divide it because it has spread so much. Hostas are pretty hardy too. I also like rose moss for a little bit of color, without having to do much work.

I think I've said this before, but I LOVE the looks Chloe gives. She is too cute!
