It wasn't me!

Not too long ago I read a blog post about things that children stick up their noses. I remember thinking that I was lucky to have children who are smart enough not to do that! You know the Proverb, "Pride cometh before a fall"? Well imagine my surprise when I was sitting next to Eleanor last night and she started whimpering and said, "Mom, I think there's something in my nose!". I kind of shrugged it off at first and suggested she blow her nose, so she tried to blow her nose, but then she again said, but with a little more conviction, that there was actually something IN her nose! I looked a little closer and thought one of her nostrils did look slightly larger, so I said. "Eleanor, did you put something in your nose?" to which she responded, "I didn't do it! It was Chloe!". Yeah right. I asked her what was up there and she told me it was a rock! Seriously Eleanor! A rock? Why!? So I tried to plug the one nostril and have her blow out the rock. It was not to be. I was thinking that I really did NOT want to make an ER run that night, so I went and got the tweezers. She seemed slightly panicked at this point, but I told her to please be very still while I tried to get the rock out of her nose. I was thankfully able to reach in with the tweezers and pull out the rock. I'm sure it was not comfortable coming out, but I can't imagine it was comfortable going in either! Kids are so weird! It wasn't an extremely large rock, but it was a little odd shaped and had some pointy ends. I'm hoping she learned her lesson...

Here are some pictures from the park where Eleanor got said rock and brought it home...

Chloe kept asking me to take her picture, so that is why there are so many more of her than the rest of the kids.

  1. Love the pictures!

And did you post about the rock in the nose the other day on fb? For some reason I seem to think I saw it on there... I'll have to go check your page now. :)

I have always wondered how that happened! Seems like there are always stories of kids getting something stuck in their nose. Just one of those random things kids do I guess. Glad you were able to get it out!

  3. Is this the first of your kiddos to stick somethin' in the nose?

It's funny to read but the experience itself is not, eh?!!
